Knowing what you will expected to pay for college is critical as juniors enter the college search and application process.
The FAFSA4caster site is offered by the Federal Government and will calculate your "Expected Family Contribution."
There are several resources available online to assist in College Planning - such as the ACT Website. Watch out for scams as you do your online research and please be aware that there is no cost to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There also several FREE scholarship searches available on line. One of the most popular is FASTWEB
The Common Application is used by most colleges. It can save you a great deal of time when you are applying to several Colleges or Universities. Be sure to print off the following forms and bring them to the Guidance Office.
* Secondary School Report
* Counselor Recommendation Form
* Mid-year Report form
* Final Report Form
Print off the Teacher Recommendation Form and take it to the teacher you have asked to do a recommendation. Some colleges want extra data, be sure to check for supplemental forms for any college to which you send your Common Application.

FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid):
Get your FAFSA PIN Number early. Both students and parents need a PIN.

To receive any financial aid all students and their parents must file a FAFSA Application. Your FAFSA may NOT be filed before January 1st. It should be filed as soon as possible after January 1st.
